anyone can do a zine. its just a personal way to express yourself and share it with people. it can be on paper or online.
Here is a better description: "A self-produced magazine often photocopied or crudely printed and distributed through underground channels. Zine was short for fanzine, used to describe self-published magazines produced by science fiction fans in the 1950s and earlier as a means to publish early science fiction before there were any legitimate markets for such material. Early mimeographed journals were also an integral part of the music and drug counterculture in the late 1960s. Photocopiers started appearing in many offices in the early 1980s, and during the punk rock revolution, many office temp slaves stole Xerox time from their places of work to bring out a new wave of zines. In the early 1990s, yet another explosion of zines happened, as computers became cheap and powerful, Kinko's and other chain photocopiers became prevalent, and the internet became a popular method to market titles. Later, HTML and email made it possible to replace the photocopier step, by creating an e-zine and electronically distributing it."
links below will be replaced with linked zines as they are sent to me or i find cool ones.. :) There are two more zines coming of two different styles of mine but i ran out of playtime... back to work!
